Engineering Team Leader Volvo Group

Position Description 
Summary

Provide technical engineering expertise, supervision, leadership, and direction to process truck orders and develop new customer adaptation solutions in the Chassis and Vehicle Dynamics section; which supports the Mack Highway, Construction, and COE (Cab Over Engine) vehicle ranges within the Customer Engineering department.

Core Responsibilities
Develop customer adaptation technical solutions and provide guidance and direction to designers to fulfil customer orders
Establish and maintain technical networks with respective engineers in the core engineering departments
Provide technical supervision and leadership for order processing and customer adaptation solutions to satisfy customer orders
Oversee engineering activities including technical training, instruction, and/or guidance to designers and engineers within area of responsibility
Utilize all systems available to plan, manage, and effectively work customer orders
Interface with other group leaders, engineers, and designers in the department for supporting, synchronizing, and successfully executing customer adaptation solutions
Evaluate incoming orders for content and order complexity to determine customer adaptation status
Monitor and manage outgoing order quality through quality systems and metrics
Provide technical support and assistance to the truck assembly factory
Provide technical back-up for the engineers in the section
Serve as a deputy to the engineering manager in leading the day-to-day operations of the engineering section
Perform tasks and duties for the engineering manager during his/her absence
Support company policies and abide by the Mack-UAW contract language
Approve time reporting for designers in the work group

Lead Engineer

Position Description
Summary

Provide Product Data Management (PDM) systems leadership, direction, and expertise to support and process customer quotations, orders, and adaptation solutions for the Mack Customer Engineering department.

Core Responsibilities
Provide daily user support as the on-site technical expert in the PDM systems and tools used for processing customer adaptation quotations and orders in the Customer Engineering department
Serve as the department IT liaison and establish and maintain networks with business owners and analysts in the Process and IT departments
Extract and compile PDM data and develop daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly performance indicator reports for use in managing the Customer Engineering department
Provide PDM training, instruction, and/or guidance to other personnel and work groups
Develop full utilization of all available PDM systems and tools to effectively plan, manage, and work customer quotations and orders
Act as the project leader in the Customer Engineering department for PDM enhancements and developments
