To serve as primary contact person for internal and external customers in relation to Import transactions. LC, Import Contract Registeration, Import Bills lodgement, payment. Responsible for the timely issuance of Shipping Guarantee / Airway Bill release, and their redemption. Monitoring and follow up for documents in respect of Advance payment made for Import.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Timely processing and issuance of LC, Import Contract and amendments through Trade system.
Timely processing of Lodgement and payment of Import Bills through Trade system.
Issuance and redemption of Shipping Guarantee / Airway Bill release processing the same day on Trade System.
Processing of Advance payment for Import on Trade system.
Follow-up of outstanding / unaccepted bills, Shipping Guarantee / Airway Bill release and Import documents not received against the Advance payments.
Responsible for clearing nostro open items, and follow up with foreign correspondent banks the recovery / settlement of o/s unreconciled Nostro items pertaining to Imports.
Recovery of all commission and fees on timely basis as per customer BCA / schedule of charges and recovery of FCY / Local correspondent Bank charges, etc.
Ensure timely / proper follow up with the foreign correspondent / CSG/ RM for acceptance and payment of bills.
Ensure submission of all internal and External returns as per respective deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills
University Graduate. Other professional qualification would be an added asset.
Trade Services operational knowledge and experience will be an added asset.
Knowledge of Local rules and regulations governing Imports will be an added asset
Previous banking experience will be preferable.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
