Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, NA Merchant Gases Operations at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt will:
• Lead and mentor Lean Six Sigma projects through a DMAIC process.
• Execute high impact regional and cross-functional projects that support the North America Merchant business, Global Operations, manufacturing sites and terminals.
• Develop project scope, objectives and metrics that coach, mentor and assist project teams and provide input on priorities.
• Lead delivery of training in support of the Global Operations training plan and drive Lean Six Sigma cultural growth in conjunction with Air Products’ data driven mindset initiative.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Work closely with Master Black Belt to deploy Six Sigma across North America Merchant operations; work with process owners to translate functional goals into Lean Six Sigma strategies/projects, and quantifiable results.
• Manage project development and selection, development of project plans, and metrics identification; follow toll gate reviews; maintain project database and reporting systems.
• Coach, train, and develop Yellow Belts, Green Belts, Champions, and executives in Lean Six Sigma methodology.
• Provide expert guidance to multiple Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Yellow Belt project teams.
• Lead and execute Lean Six Sigma projects as assigned and/or identified.
• Demonstrate thought leadership in continuous improvement.
• Utilize change management to drive results.
• Achieve Air Products Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Facilitate ideation and charter development process, selection, assignment and project execution: Development of project plans, metrics identification; follow toll gate reviews; maintain project database and reporting systems.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt; minimum 3 years of Lean Six Sigma experience.
• Bachelors in Engineering or related technical field. Advanced degree or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in chemical or oil and gas operations or technical environment.
• Demonstrated Lean Six Sigma deployment experience within operations, engineering, or technical functions and effective training skills.
• Demonstrated project management skills; PMP certification a plus.
• Willing to travel up to 30% of the time.
