Ecommerce Creative Director

Job description
Rodale’s is looking for an eCommerce Creative Director who will be responsible for growing our eCommerce business and charged with creative direction and execution, marketing strategy and vision, and brand awareness and aesthetic. Rodales.com is a new, online venture and start up e-Commerce site launched in Summer 2013. This position will lead the design, photography, and content teams, through recruitment, career development, and mentoring of staff. In addition to leading this high function team, the Creative Director should be scrappy with the ability and desire to roll up sleeves and execute when needed. The role is based in Emmaus, PA.

Responsibilities

Creative Direction and Execution - Elevate & evolve the brand aesthetic and voice while supporting the overall brand direction within budget constraints. Responsible for design, photography, and content teams.

Marketing Strategy & Vision - Create and Execute marketing strategy that drives sales for Rodale’s LLC. Leverage all marketing channels to drive growth. Create big ideas that transform the growth of the business.

Leadership and Management - Create and lead high functioning team through recruitment, career development, and mentoring of staff.

Brand Awareness & Aesthetic - Work cross functionally to present a cohesive and compelling brand experience driving customer awareness, engagement, acquisition, traffic and sales

Collaborate - Work in collaboration with merchandising team, operations, IT, corporate services and management to ensure creative presentations are cohesive and align with business objectives.

Financial Management - Oversee revenue, marketing expense and creative expense budget/forecasts. Work with Finance & Management to maximize objectives within financial targets. Measure, test, analyze, hindsight, and report results to fuel continuous improvement.

Be scrappy. Ability and desire to roll up sleeves when needed and execute as well as oversee team.

Qualifications

10+ years experience with proven track record of success

Strong retail ecommerce creative and marketing experience

Start up ecommerce experience

Proven track record of creative and resourceful approaches to unique business challenges

Diligent budget ownership, successfully balancing marketing effectiveness and costs with creative vision and costs.

Alignment to Rodale’s vision and core values

Experience building high functioning teams

Experience working with and presenting ideas to all levels of business partners including C-level

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously ranging from strategy to execution

BFA, or BA Required, MBA a plus
