Senior Storage Administrator Guardian Life

This individual will provide primarily operational support for the Guardian Production, UAT, and Test storage and backup environment. This will involve storage administration tasks such as zoning, lun provisioning, troubleshooting issues, and on-call support. This will also include involvement in requirements gathering for new projects, incident/request fulfillment, collaboration with other infrastructure groups, capacity planning, and overall storage reporting. Strong communication skills and self-starter attitude are key requirements for this position. This position will report into the Manager of Storage Operations. There will be an on-call rotation and second shift responsibilities for this position as well. This person may also be involved in Storage engineering efforts/POC’s in conjunction with the Storage Engineering team.

Competencies/Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong presentation skills
Strong and demonstrated documentation skills
Must be flexible and able to work in a team environment or alone with same degree of integrity and professionalism throughout.
EMC VMAX, VNX (File and Block), and Centera
EMC SRDFa and RecoverPoint replication technology
Both SAN and NAS experience
Brocade DCX switches and SAN fabric design
Netapp SanScreen, EMC DPA, and other EMC Native tools such as SPA, Unisphere
Knowledge:
Strong Operating System experience in AIX, Redhat Linux, Windows
Strong performance tuning/troubleshooting skills
Basic knowledge of database and operating system technology including AIX, Windows, Oracle, SQL, and UDB
Demonstrated knowledge in Capacity Planning/Forecasting
Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
Experience:
5-7 years as Storage Administrator
3-5 years experience in EMC storage/tools and Brocade technology
