The role will be reporting to the General Manager in country and will be tasked with overseeing the project in its early development stages, right through construction and to completion.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Leading the execution for construction of the power plant.
- Taking an active role in the O&M of the power plant
- Working closely with Owner’s Engineer to finalize & freeze design basis/work scope for implementation of the power plant.
- Preparing & finalize tender requirements to invite proposals.
- Taking the lead to clarify, negotiate & finalize work scope, deliverables, schedule and others
- Monitoring and controlling overall project approved budget frequently including forecasting cost to complete.
- Supervising project supervisors and engineers to ensure their objectives and efforts are aligned, properly coordinated & are cost conscious to complete works in a timely & safe manner.
- Ensuring compliance with the company policies, professional practices and applicable laws and customs in country, including HSE.
- Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all technical, financial, and administrative functions of the assigned project, or subtask.
- Monitoring and reporting to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule.
The following are desirable qualities:
- 15+ years’ experience in a similar role
- BSc degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- Previous experience in country
The successful applicant must:
- Be fluent in written and spoken English
- Have experience of overseeing a coal fired power plant from the early stages through to completion
- Have 10+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Be willing to relocate to South East Asia
- Have over 20 years’ experience in the Power Generation sector
