Job description
Running Times Online Associate Editor

The Running Times editorial team is looking for a skilled Associate Editor with a proven interest in competitive running. This staff editor will contribute equally to the magazine and Runningtimes.com, with a special focus on high school and college running. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in print and digital journalism and will be able to produce fresh story ideas, develop industry sources, and work well with a range of writers and experts.

Responsibilities include:
Editing front of book high school and college departments and managing those channels online.
Juggling multiple assignments on tight deadline.
Managing social media for stories related to youth running.

The ideal candidate will:
Be able to handle vast amounts of copy on tight deadline.
Exhibit a strong news sense
Understand the mindset of competitive runners and elite athletes and the stories that are relevant to them
Produce great story ideas
Qualifications:
Three to four years of journalism experience
Web writing experience
Comfort with social media
A solid network of running sources (athletes, coaches, experts at all levels of the sport) a plus
