Team Manager, Project Management

The Team Manager will also be expected to provide leadership to a team of project managers based in North America; they will be responsible for ensuring that their team members are motivated to meet their performance objectives and are being given ample opportunity to refine their skills and experience. The Team Manager should also be a proven senior project manager able to build strong customer and internal relationships and is accountable for definition and execution of professional services projects that deliver specific and agreed business benefits.
ESSENTIAL DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Mentor project managers on the project methodology and help drive improvements to that methodology
-Coach team members regarding skills development; work with direct management and others to develop appropriate training plans.
-Administer timely performance feedback and facilitate individual growth and development through a range of performance management activities (e.g., setting/tracking SMART goals and objectives, coaching for success/improvements, proactively managing performance problems, seeking quarterly feedback from clients and colleagues). Oversee and conduct semi-annual and annual performance reviews.
-Assist the Sales team through the estimation process and in demonstration (focus on our project methodology and other project management concerns)
-Act as a senior project manager – execute the responsibilities of that role and maintain a 50% billable commitment:
- Delivers projects within budget and agreed timeline, with quality; prepares regular status and financial reporting to the client and Elite; executes regular status meetings with the client and project team; manages day-to-day client relationship.
- Actively participates in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project.
- Champions the Elite Project Quality Methodology, based on PMI principles, and ensures there project governance is put in place throughout all project phases
- Provides thought leadership on appropriateness of tools and process to project goals.
- Modifies personal approach and style to reflect changing circumstance.
- Plans and manages project activity to maximize commercial return for the company, ensuring a focus on minimizing lost and non-billable time.
- Ensures any change orders arising are discussed well in advance to ensure the customer’s expectations are managed effectively, and that the Sales account manager is engaged.
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of all internal project management reports including milestone, backlog/financial forecast, resource forecast, status and other reports, as requested.
- Ensures accuracy in relation to recording of all time related to the project, and the accurate and timely billing of this to the customer.
- Manages their own time effectively to maximize utilization and to balance demands from multiple projects.
- Meets individual contributor targets for billable hours, utilization, etc. as set from time to time.

Desired Skills and Experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

-Strong Leadership skills with a demonstrable background of people management, motivating and coaching
-Five plus years of demonstrated management of a team of 4 or more direct reports
-Demonstrated experience developing or updating project management methodology
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with strong presentation, influencing and negotiating skills
-Demonstrated ability to work in an environment of change and uncertainty with sound judgment under pressure
-Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of work and diverse range of projects and activities
-Eight - twelve years managing all phases of software implementations with teams of five to fifteen producing revenue of $500k to $3mm or more; two – three years of financial software implementation experience
-Experience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), preferably gained by having undertaken a multitude of project roles over their career.
-Solid knowledge, understanding and experience of financial operations (GL, AP, AR, Billing/Invoicing, Operational and Management Reptg)
-Client-facing consultancy experience with a blue-chip or big-five professional services organization
-REMOTE, ability to work from home with travel up to 50%, depending on the stage of the projects under their management
-Law firm financial operations experience
-Experience with Elite software
-Management of financial ERP implementations
-Previous experience as a project manager for a financial ERP software company
-PMP or willingness to obtain PMP within one year of start date
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
